  • Liking it - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

Ok so Ive only drove a 1,000 miles but overall I like it. Rides smooth, def a car hybrid that sits higher and tad heavier. I thank edmunds for its pricing tools, def help me find the best price. seats are semi uncomfy, could be better, the rear visibility is decent, cargo space is good, entertainment system is decent and armrest could be improved, overall its a solid car 8/10

  • The right choice! - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

We love the safety features on the 2017 CR-V. The car is very comfortable. Our first time driving it was on a 6 hour ride and it was a pleasure. The heated seats are great for our cold, mountain climate. So far we are averaging 29 MPG. We are very happy with our choice.

  • Great vehicle at a decent price - 2017 Honda CR V

The car is a solid offering. Its not a speed demon. Acceleration wont snap any heads. Once it gets moving its going fast but this isnt a drag racer by any stretch. This is a very solid, well thought out, well manufactured car! I really do enjoy it. Wouldnt mind larger sun roof options but really a cosmetic quibble.

  • Everything I Wanted and More! - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

I have always owned small , economy cars, mostly Toyota Corollas. In 2008 I purchased a Civic, which I was still driving until purchasing this new CR-V . I love technology and gadgets and I was interested in a car with more up to date features. I also needed something with a little more room, so I test drove and researched a variety of SUVs. I chose the CR-V based on the excellent reviews , resale values, reliability, safety and price. All I can say is that this vehicle is amazing. The first day I picked it up we had a severe storm. I drove on the highway for hours in a downpour and was alerted when someone tried to pass too closely. The beeping startled me but it also saved me from an accident. The side mirrors light up and alarms go off. I was also very happy with the way it held the road and felt sound. Last week as I was backing out of my driveway someone came around our nearby corner too quickly. Again the alarm went off as I was within a few inches it seemed of being hit. A few times after late nights at work I have forgotten a turn signal or drifted a bit. The steering wheel vibrates and more alarms. It is so smart and works hard to keep you safe. The camera view is excellent but I still have to do it the old fashioned way. I have driven it for a month now and have been getting 28-30 MPG in mixed traffic. It runs smoothly, quietly and is a pleasure to drive, even in the economy mode. I admit that I am not driving for performance and am happy to see the green light. I love everything about my new CR-V. I was going to keep the Civic as I love that too but this vehicle makes me want to sell the Civic. I am trying to figure out some day trips just so I can drive my new vehicle more! The only thing I can say is frustrating is that the lift gate adjustment keeps resetting back to full height. The seat also remembers my setting but when I get out I move the seat back because I am short and drive up close to the wheel. It moves the seat back up before I get in..so if I leave it back when I get out, I cant get back in because it pushes the seat up close to the wheel, before I am seated. Of course these are small things and could be my user error. Great Vehicle...you will not go wrong with a CR-V.

  • Shopping for mid sized SUV gave the CRV a look. - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

There are several problems this car has in our view and a big part is value and over all performance. Almost pulled the trigger on another SUV but little lady saw this car and wanted to check it out. Aside from the fact the dealer apprised our car for $2000 less the anyone else the vehicle just could not compare to the mid size SUVs we were considering. Hated the CVT transmission and the engine made cheap 4 cyclinder sounds. Too much road noise and the worst sound system we had sampled and yes I adjusted it every way possible. Not a bad car and probably the best compact SUV out there but with the incentives and deep discounting going on in the mid sized market suggest you look around at what you can buy up market from this vehicle. Little to no discount or incentives makes this thing look over priced to us.

  • Worthwhile upgrade from driving an Accord - 2017 Honda CR V

Good handling and fuel economy for an SUV

  • Just ok, maybe. - 2017 Honda CR V

This car would probably be fine for me for short, (less than 15 min. trips). The drivers seat becomes very hard after sitting on it for any length of time. Wife drove down to Montgomery, Ala. this wkend and averaged 31.7 mpg @ 75 mph. I guess this is ok for an awd, although it would be nice if that 1.5 turbo was a little less thirsty. This seems to be a quality built vehicle, and it does drive quite nice. The front seats however, are terrible. I also am unimpressed with the audio sound. Honda should have a high-end system in the ex-l. In summary, Im glad this is my wife car and not mine.

  • Not all leather - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

I felt mislead when I asked the salesmen if the interior seats were all leather. Two salesmen said yes, "all Leather". Not true! In fact the interior of the car is mostly vinyl. Do your research. Honda is now replacing what was mostly leather, with vinyl. Only the middle part of the seats and middle part of the back is leather. But it all looks like leather. Check it out! It still looks nice inside, but dont be fooled. The salesmen should know better than to tell a customer its all leather. Beware when the car pamphlet says "Leather-trimmed".

  • Nicest CRV - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

We are highly satisfied with the decision to pick the CRV from our list of three finalists. It drives really well, the safety features/technology work well, the ride is miles ahead of what we had with the 2013 Accord (rode like a truck), lots of room, turbo really takes care of hilly terrain. The interior is attractive and the car is well finished overall. The 2017 CRV presents a very convincing argument; it is hard to find a better engineered product at this price point and a vehicle that does what it is supposed to do, period. One negative item... Check the undercarriage; my Canadian made CRV had numerous rust spots on the suspension parts, such as bolts, struts and bushing brackets (anything made out of carbon steel), It showed evidence that it was driven over salted down road from the factory to the shipping dock, pretty serious rust despite of only having 18 miles driven when i picked it up. This is something that is not very evident when shopping around and easy to ignore due to the "new car fever" and other distractions. The dealer after some "friendly arguing" agreed to remove the rust spots and applied some preservative; the mechanic did a really nice job, helped us and Honda avoid unnecessary repairs/costs in the future. Another negative item...A month after with roughly 600 miles driven, the battery is dead after the car was parked at the airport for 7 days; a new battery was purchased (was not refunded). Two months after that the battery is again dead, this time in my own garage. This has been the only problem. A very positive item...Took the car to the dealer and they quickly fixed the problem by re-loading a new version of the software . The car has been parked as long as 10 days a few times, no more dead battery. Fuel economy is averaging 30 MPG (combined driving), worst in town only was 24 MPG, best highway only was 39 MPG. Regrets.... i wish i had purchased the Touring model with all the "toys". Great product, i recommend it to any one.

  • First 1,000 miles were very impressive - 2017 Honda CR V
    By -

In the past, I always bought one year old Chrysler products with minimum options as they had low resale and I could buy them for short money. Worked for me as a sales guy pounding on the miles. This changed when I watch a Toyota Camry ad on television showing the auto braking saving a family from a collision due to inattention. Acknowledging my age I felt the others on the road deserved for me to have these "extra eyes" helping. Also I live on a large hill in snow country and although I have always made it home with FWD, the trip often involved "flying" the car over the hills. Decided I would rather be able to climb hills at a sane speed so went with AWD. Went shopping and tried all the CSUVs. My evaluation pointed to the Honda as having the best forward emergency braking, adaptive cruise, cross traffic and absolutely the best lane guidance. Only 1,000 miles down so far but no buyers regret whatsoever. The car is quiet enough, the automatic climate control has not been touched -- set to 70 and forget. Lane guidance is amazing, I can go through s bends with my hands off. (The car admonishes me to steer after a few seconds but stays in lane as long as there are stripes.) Mileage is pretty good for an AWD non aerodynamic box with upright seating -- 34 on highway and 29 all round with many short trip.
